The Clinton County Clerk of Courts Office, which is a U.S. Passport acceptance agent, earned a certificate of achievement “for exemplary performance for three consecutive facility oversight visits,” states a letter from the United States Department of State’s National Passport Center in New Hampshire. The letter also states a passport program analyst who audited the clerk of court’s office was “very impressed” and “found everything was in compliance with the Passport Agent Reference Guide.” There were no required improvements listed for the passport agent. The Clinton County Clerk of Court’s Office averaged 540 passports annually from 2014 through 2016, and has 501 so far this year.
