DAR chapter to hold membership workshop

WILMINGTON — Do you have a revolutionary patriot in your family tree? A patriot is defined here as not only soldiers but anyone who contributed to the cause of American freedom.

To find out whether your ancestor is recognized by the DAR as a revolutionary patriot, use the request form available online. Please visit www.dar.org and click on “Membership”.

The George Clinton Chapter, NSDAR, is holding a membership workshop at the Clinton County History Center on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon.

DAR volunteer genealogists will be on hand to assist you in the completion of your application to join the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible for membership in the DAR.
