CMH Regional Health System recently brought on its third general surgeon, Dr. Nathan Roberts, who joins general surgeons Dr. Rachel Lovano and Dr. Byron Stapleton.

Dr. Roberts received his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies and completed his residency in general surgery at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati. He then went on to Loyola University in Chicago, where he was Associate Professor of General Surgery and a TTP Fellow.

Prior to medical school, Dr. Roberts taught seventh- and eighth-grade science and theology at Prince of Peace Community School and St. Michael the Archangel High School. Dr. Roberts is a member of the American College of Surgeons.

Greg Nielsen, CEO of CMH Regional Health System, spoke to Dr. Roberts’ arrival.

“I’ve been doing this for over 20 years, and this is the best general surgery team I’ve ever worked with,” said Nielsen. “We’re excited to welcome Dr. Roberts to CMH and to the community, and know that he’s already made an incredible impact on his patients and colleagues. He is passionate about serving others, and it shows.”

Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Hollon added, “Dr. Roberts has shown excellent skill in his training and brings even greater breadth to our outstanding general surgery team. I’m proud to welcome him to our medical staff.”

CMH will be welcoming Dr. Roberts with a community open house and ribbon-cutting 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1. There will be light refreshments available throughout, and a formal ribbon cutting with the Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome.

Those interested in scheduling an appointment with Dr. Roberts can call 937-283-2520. Drs. Lovano, Stapleton, and Roberts see patients at their clinic in the CMH Professional Building, 630 W. Main St., Suite 304.
