Officials at RCCH HealthCare Partners announced that CMH Regional Health System CEO Greg Nielsen has been promoted to Division President for RCCH HealthCare Partners. In this new role Nielsen will have oversight for a group of RCCH hospitals, including CMH Regional Health System.

“We are excited to be able to promote Greg within our company,” said Rob Jay, Chief Operating Officer for RCCH. “He has done an outstanding job leading CMH over the past three years. There have been significant additions and expansions to important service lines including interventional cardiology, expanded surgical services, the oncology affiliation with The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James), and the recent addition of Southwest Ohio Gastroenterology and Clinton County Outpatient Surgery to CMH.

“These, along with additions to the medical staff and a strong leadership team, mean that more and more people from southwest Ohio can receive their care close to home.”

RCCH officials also noted that, in conjunction with the board and medical staff leadership, they will immediately begin a national search for a new Chief Executive Officer.

In his new role, Nielsen will be closely involved in selecting a new CEO for CMH to ensure that progress continues and to make certain that the new CEO is the right fit for the hospital and community. Until the new leader is named, Nielsen will remain in his role leading CMH as he begins the transition to his new position with RCCH.

“I am very excited about this new opportunity,” said Nielsen. “My family and I have loved every minute of our time in Wilmington. This community has embraced us and welcomed us and I know they will do the same to the new CEO. I am very thankful that this new role will allow me to maintain my connection to this great hospital and this great community.”
