A 16-year-old Blanchester High School student was arrested after police say that teen was in possession of a hypodermic needle and a bag of white powder at the school.
According to Blanchester Police Chief Scott Reinbolt, police were called to the school on Friday, Oct. 30 after county juvenile probation officers made the discovery. The Midland resident was arrested by the probation officers for violating probation. Police officers collected the needle and white powder, which were sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification for examination, Reinbolt said.
On Wednesday, Nov. 4, after consultation with the Office of Clinton County Prosecuting Attorney Rick Moyer, Blanchester Police charged the teenager with Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments, Reinbolt said. That teen is currently being held in a juvenile detention facility.
Reinbolt also reported that, on Tuesday night, Nov. 3, the police department and Blanchester Emergency Medical Service responded to two heroin overdoses within the village limits.
