April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month. As part of that effort, Blanchester police officers Ptl. Kristen Jeffers and Cpl. James Beckelhymer were recently at Blanchester High School to hand out driver awareness key chains which display the message, “Arrive alive, don’t text, just drive!” The key chains were given to students as they left the building going to the student parking lot at the end of the school day. “It is our hope that these key chains remind teenagers of the dangers of using their electronic devices while driving,” said BPD Chief Scott Reinbolt.
