The Diner in New Vienna set to open

NEW VIENNA — The Diner in New Vienna will hold a grand opening featuring a “first-rate hog roast menu” as well as a ribbon-cutting by the Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5.

If you stop in at the newly opened eatery at 149 Main St. Saturday you’ll find The Diner in New Vienna filled with nostalgic ambiance. In the freshly revamped dining room, thanks to several of the Minderman family members and friends, the main dining area showcases a Coca-Cola theme including newly painted red walls, Coca-Cola curtains, decals on the chair rails, and memorabilia.

You can view the murals of old-time New Vienna when Model T’s and unpaved streets were the norm. The three acrylic paintings donated to The Diner were painted in remembrance of Carol, Julia and Lisa Minderman — mother, wife and sister to Mike Minderman.

Mike is well-known for his culinary artistic talent. His 35 years of experience in the food business has given him the know-how to try a wide variety of foods to tease one’s taste buds.

Also, he bakes a wide variety of flavor-filled pizzas. But brisket from his smoker is his forte.
