BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester Public Library will host a free women’s self-defense class from 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19.

The class will be taught by Darin Ashley and his wife, Christa. Darin has been a certified women’s self-defense trainer for more than 20 years and has trained hundreds of women. Christa has been assisting him for more than 10 years.

Women who attend the program will learn safe methods and techniques to protect themselves. The session is open to all females, from teenagers up, and will cover topics such as threat awareness, fighting without speed or strength, and the survival mindset.

There is no need for physical strength or stamina – the class has even been taught to women using walkers.

Registration for the class is requested by calling 937-783-5369 or the library at 937-783-3585.
