Two injured in Wilmington crash

WILMINGTON — An accident on West Main Street resulted in one car being flipped on its top.

According to the Wilmington Police Department’s report, the two-vehicle accident took place at 7:14 p.m. on Sunday at the 700 block of West Main Street.

Witnesses advised they saw a 2016 Toyota Corolla hit a 2006 Cadillac DeVille while attempting to turn left onto Hale Street. The report indicates both were driving eastbound with the Toyota driving in the right lane and the Cadillac in the left lane. The Cadillac was pushed off the road, up a guideline and rolled onto its top, according to police.

An 18-year-old Mason female operated the Toyota and a 38-year-old Wilmington female operated the Cadillac.

Both sustained minor injuries and were transported to Clinton Memorial Hospital by the Wilmington Fire Department for treatment, according to the report.

The Mason female was found be at fault and was cited for an improper lane change.
