BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester FFA Chapter recently took a group of members to the 91st National FFA Convention and Expo held in Indianapolis.

A total of 22 members attended, including Olivia Potts, Jill Richardson, Tony Greco, Bradley Brown, Emma Rumpke, Felicity Hudson, Tom Black, Madison Pembleton, Maddie Wells, Destiny Waldron, Brian Miller, Brighton Morris, Cora Shattuck, Jacob Miller, Makenna Maddix, Emma Case, Rianna Mueller, Abby Spurling, Ashleigh Osborn, Caili Baumann, Autum Medley, Taylor Cochran.

While on this trip, the chapter toured the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Traders Point Creamery.

While at the speedway participants loaded onto the provided tour buses to go around the racetrack and even got a chance to kiss the bricks like the winners who have competed at the raceway.

The creamery provided a good perspective on the world of organic agriculture and what it is like to use nature to its full potential.

Thursday night, all Ohio FFA members were invited to the Buckeye Bash where members were able to connect while having a fun time.

Also on this trip were sessions filled with awards and speeches by keynote speakers from inspiring messages to information on what is going on in the agriculture industry, and what to look for in the future.

In-between sessions, there was an opportunity to visit the expo, where students could visit the shopping mall or the career show with multiple future opportunities in agriculture such as college booths.

The chapter would like to recognize the fact that one of their own members, Lindsay Shell, a 2017 graduate, earned her American Degree through her hard work both inside and out of the organization. Congratulations Lindsay!

Overall the participants brought many new leadership skills gained through the week and are excited to promote their knowledge and passion with their friends, fellow FFA members, and their community.
