Highland heroin probe rises to 45 charged

Three Greenfield residents have been arrested on charges related to heroin as part of a six-month probe that has so far resulted in charges against 45 suspects, according to Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera.

In a press release, Barrera said that the U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force ended a six-month investigation into heroin trafficking in the Greenfield area with the arrest of three people.

Barrera said that the Highland County Sheriff’s Office and the Ross County Sheriff’s Office are members of the U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force, along with other agencies, including the Ohio Organized Crime Commission.

According to Barrera, more than 45 suspects have been charged over the past few months as a result. The three arrested on Dec. 2 were:

• Jeffrey Coleman, 49, of Greenfield, was charged in a 29-count indictment with engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity (F1), trafficking in heroin (F5), possession of heroine (F5), trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in cocaine in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of cocaine (F5), trafficking in cocaine (F5), possession of cocaine (F5), trafficking in heroin (F4), possession of heroin (F4), trafficking in heroin (F5), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in cocaine in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of cocaine (F5), trafficking in heroin (F5), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in heroin (F4), possession of heroin (F4), trafficking in heroin (F4), possession of heroin (F4), trafficking in heroin (F3), possession of heroin (F3); and a forfeiture specification.

• Jevonna Coleman, 52, of Greenfield, was charged in a 27-count indictment with engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity (F1), trafficking in heroin (F5), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in cocaine in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of cocaine (F5), trafficking in cocaine (F5), possession of cocaine (F5), trafficking in heroin (F4), possession of heroin (F4), trafficking in heroin (F5), possession of heroin F5), trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of school (F4), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in cocaine in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of cocaine (F5), trafficking in heroin (F4), possession of heroin (F4), trafficking in heroin (F4), possession of heroin (F4), trafficking in heroin (F3), possession of heroin (f3); and a forfeiture specification.

• Lawrence E. Wheaton, 45, of Greenfield, charged in an 11-count indictment with trafficking in heroin (F5), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of heroin (F5), trafficking in cocaine in the vicinity of a school (F4), possession of cocaine (F5), trafficking in heroin (F4), possession of heroin (F4), and trafficking in a counterfeit controlled substance (F5).

All three were arraigned last week. Bond for both Colemans was set at $50,000 and bond for Wheaton was set at $20,000.

The court said Monday that Jeffrey Coleman had bonded out, but Jevonna Coleman had not. Court records indicate that Wheaton is was also still in jail as of early Monday evening.
