National Cooperative Bank (NCB), a leading financial services company dedicated to serving cooperatives and socially responsible organizations nationwide, recently honored four employees for their dedication and service to nonprofit organizations. All recipients were given $1,000 checks for their respective organization.

Locally, Valerie Smart, Loan Servicing Specialist in NCB’s Ohio office, was recognized for her extensive involvement with American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Clinton, County. For more than 14 years, she has been an active volunteer serving in many capacities. Most recently she served as the marketing/publicity chair with the goal of generating community interest and involvement without incurring a lot of cost.

Relay for Life is a community event where everyone can participate (running or walk) in the fight against cancer.

Krystal Hannah, Loan Specialist in NCB’s Ohio office, was honored for her service to SOUL’D Out Ministries through Carpenter’s House of Prayer Church of God. The organization serves as an outreach program to at-risk youth from ages of 13-19. The goal is to change a life of a child by spending quality time, providing counseling services to children, and enrichment activities for families.

She has been active in the program since 2012, meeting with underprivileged youth two days per week. She also prepares meals, provides counseling services and organizes outreach programs where children can participate in helping others.
