WILMINGTON — Friends, family and community members packed the Wilmington News Journal offices Monday evening to say bon voyage to Publisher Pam Stricker, who is leaving after 14 years to become publisher at another Civitas Media paper, The Lima News.
People from all over Clinton County and a few beyond — as well as her husband, Jerry — joined the celebration hosted by the News Journal staff.
Stricker, who is very active in civic and charitable activities throughout the county, received proclamations from Ohio Speaker of the House Cliff Rosenberger’s office, as well as one from the city of Wilmington proclaiming “Pam Stricker Day.”
Wilmington Mayor Randy Riley was on hand to present a key to the city along with the proclamation. It cited in part her role as an “integral part of the Wilmington and Clinton County community” as well as her community activism including “Wilmington Noon Rotary, the local Chamber of Commerce, Sugartree Ministry, award programs for local scholar-athletes and Outstanding Women of Clinton County; and she also began the publication of Salt and Rural Life.”
