Hendee Broadcasting, Inc. announces the reorganization and expansion of its Wilmington radio station, WALH-FM, broadcasting on FM 106.7 and internet streaming on WALHRadio.com.

President Lee Hendee named John Cohmer Director of Creative Marketing; Dale Nagle VP of Operations; David Jones Director of Programming; Dennis Mattingly VP of Human Resources; Kevin Fodor VP of Compliance; and Linda Mattingly Treasurer.

New programming has been added including “Back to the Blues Show” Saturday nights, a weekday “Good Morning Wilmington Show”, a “Classic Country Saturday Morning Show”, and interviews with local personalities and elected officials.

“We intend to increase our presence in the community and provide programming of interest across a wide spectrum of music, news, sports and community events,” said Hendee.

WALH-FM radio was formed by Hendee and his wife, Ann, in 2013 to provide a local radio station for Wilmington and Clinton County. The station debuted on the air in September with classic rock its primary format.

WALH-FM is a non-profit community service, low-power FM station with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, operating “solely on donations, memberships and program underwriters,” Hendee said.

“We want to have a local radio station for our community, owned, operated and programmed by local people,” he said. “However, it requires the support of the community as a whole. We encourage anyone to stop by our studios as 12 West Main Street and visit with us.”
