Blanchester JV baseball drops close one 5-3

LEES CREEK – The Blanchester junior varsity baseball team was defeated by East Clinton 5-3 Monday at ECHS.

Justin Myers had two hits, including a double, a run scored and a stolen base for the Wildcats. James Compton had two singles, stole two bases, drove in a run and scored a run. Jacob Shelton had a hit and knocked in two runs in the sixth inning.

Nate Moore pitched five innings for BHS, striking out six. Nate Coyle pitched the sixth inning.

“As much as it’s disappointing to not come away with a W, it’s good for our guys to play a good, competitive game and recognize we are right there when we make routine plays,” BHS coach Andrew Freeman said.
