NEW RICHMOND – With a 5-0 win Tuesday over New Richmond, the Wilmington High School tennis team clinched at least a share of the SBAAC American Division crown.

Wilmington is 12-4 overall and 8-0 in the division.

New Richmond drops to 8-6 in all matches and 5-4 in the American.

Western Brown has two league losses, both to the Hurricane.

“Solid win over a well-coached team,” WHS coach Steve Reed said. “Match was closer than the scores show.”

Reed said New Richmond put its first and second singles players together at first doubles.

Reed noted the rally by Jonathan Fender and Caleb Reed at first doubles. Brady Henry and Jacob Romer “bounced back” following a loss on Monday.
