LYNCHBURG – Unable to get anything going offensively, the Blanchester baseball team lost to Lynchburg-Clay 3-1 Wednesday in a non-league game in Highland County.
The Wildcats are 8-8 on the year.
“We couldn’t get anything going offensively,” BHS coach Aaron Lawson said. “When we did get base runners, it was with two outs. We made a few baserunning mistakes and popped a sac bunt up that killed a couple innings. Would have been nice to get a couple timely hits. That was the difference in the game.”
Brody Rice collected three doubles for Blanchester while Dustin Howard had a double and RBI. Trenton Czaika had a hit and reached on a walk.
“Our pitching gave us a chance and kept it close,” said Lawson. “Defense made some nice plays with the infield in and bases loaded.”
