Clinton-Massie graduate Taylor Florea was named to the Division II first team All-Ohio softball squad by the Ohio Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association.
East Clinton’s Taylor Boeckmann was given honorable mention All-Ohio on the Division III team. Boeckman hit .464 this season for the Lady Astros, 32 for 69. She scored 26 runs while collecting a double and four triples. Boeckmann drove in 13 runs and stole eight bases. She had a .526 on-base percentage.
Boeckmann, who earned honorable mention honors in 2018 as well, led East Clinton this season in at-bats, runs scored, hits, triples, stolen bases and on-base percentage.
Florea led the Lady Falcons to the regional championship game both at the plate and in the circle.
Known for being a dominant pitcher, Florea led Massie with a .505 batting average this season, 47 hits in 93 at-bats. She scored 33 runs, had seven doubles, two triples and two homeruns. Florea drove in 18 runs and stole three bases. Her on-base percentage was .521, second best on the team.
In the circle, Florea posted an 18-3 record. She pitched 132 innings and had 205 strikeouts. She had seven shutouts and a 1.43 earned run average. Her WHIP (walks and hits per inning pitched) was a minuscule .073.
Florea also earned first team All-Ohio honors in 2017.
Around the SBAAC, Western Brown senior Sydni Barnes was Division I first team All-Ohio while Williamsburg sophomore Madi Ogden was Division III first team All-Ohio. Williamsburg’s Faith Golden was named to the second team and Kara Bailey was given honorable mention.
