Astros JV volleyball posts trio of wins

The East Clinton junior varsity volleyball team defeated Williamsburg 25-16, 25-20 Monday night.

Coach Kelli Jamison said her squad came out strong and played that way the entire match. “It was the best they have played,” she said.

Kelsi Lilly had nine aces to lead EC while Alexis Rolfe and Lydia Kessler had three aces each. Mackenzie Pence finished with two aces and Kami Whiteaker had one. Pence led the Astros with five kills while Jozie Jones had four.

On Sept. 12, East Clinton defeated Felicity 25-7, 25-9 thanks to a strong service match. Whiteaker had nine saves to lead the way. Savannah Tolle had five, Rolfe four, Haley Mess four, Kessler two, Jones one, Lilly one and Pence one. Bryston Roach had three kills while eight other EC players had one kill each.

Last Wednesday, East Clinton defeated Lynchburg 25-20,25-5. EC had just four service errors in the two sets. Kessler had five aces and Jones served two. Pence and Lilly had one ace each. Lauren Hadley and Jones had three kills each.
