SPRINGFIELD — The Wilmington College women’s soccer team battled Wittenberg University to a scoreless draw on the road in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers held a 28-6 edge in shots, though that margin was just 13-6 after 90 minutes. The hosts held a 15-0 edge in the overtime sessions. Three Fightin’ Quaker shots reached target and they were from reigning Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Taylor Huffman, Tiffany Hayes and Madison Wiedeman.

Wittenberg fired 23 shots on goal in the game. Two were blocked by the Wilmington defense, but Quaker goalkeeper Lauren Galloway saved the other 21 shots.

The hosts also held a 10-5 edge in corner kicks and committed 11 fouls to seven for the visitors.

The Quakers (3-2-1) host Transylvania University at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
