WHS plays fifth 5-set match, falls to BHS

BATAVIA — The Wilmington High School volleyball team lost another five-set thriller in SBAAC American Division play against Batavia.

The Bulldogs posted a 25-15, 25-22, 22-25, 19-25, 13-15 win in the marathon match.

“We fought until the final point,” WHS coach Jenna Persinger said.

Wilmington is 6-9 overall and 1-5 in the American.

Batavia improves to 9-6 overall and 3-3 in the conference.

The Lady Hurricane has played five five-set matches this season and now stand 2-3 in those matches.

The reserve squad posted a 26-24, 25-23 win to up its record to 14-1 on the year.
