BHS celebrates seniors with 5-0 win

BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester tennis closed its SBAAC National Division regular season Thursday with a 5-0 win over Bethel-Tate on the BHS courts on Senior Night.

Bethel-Tate had just four players, so the Tigers forfeited all three singles courts.

Blanchester is 10-6 overall and finishes 7-1 in the National Division. Bethel-Tate is 4-11 overall and 1-7 in the division.

The match celebrated three BHS seniors — Kayla Allen, Saliya Geary and Jill Hudson.

“Kayla has meant so much to this program for the last four years,” said Sexton. “I named her a captain at the end of her sophomore season, because I knew she was going to be a leader for this program. The way she has carried herself on and off the court has been amazing. We’ll miss her as a player, but more as a person.

“Saliya was a big addition this year and she helped us get some big wins at second doubles. Jill Hudson had a tough year work-wise, but had a big win for us at East Clinton. We are grateful for both of them and will miss them.”
