Massie runnersup at HIT Classic

COLUMBUS — Clinton-Massie had one champion and five runnersup Saturday at the HIT Classic wrestling tournament at Hamilton Township High School.

In the final team standings, Hilliard Davidson finished first overall with 256.6 points while Massie was runnerup at 229 points.

Grove City was a distant third with 169.5 points. The rest of the field was Columbus St. Charles, Utica, Norwalk, Turpin, Hamilton Township, Lakewood, Fairborn, West Carrollton, McClain, Lexington, East Knox and Marian-Franklin.

Davey Tunon went through the 152 pound weight class with a 5-0 record to win yet another tournament title. He had pins in 1:32, 0:30 and 2:07 en route to the championship. Tunon also had a 9-second pin in the bracket semifinals.

Matt Asher was runnerup at 113 pounds, falling to Gio DiSabato of Davidson in the championship match, 15-6.

Bryson Mills at 132 pounds also finished second, losing by technical fall to Demetruis Monroe of Davidson, 20-5, in the title match.

Christian Poynter at 145 pounds finished second overall. He was edged by Sameh Ayoub of Davidson 11-9 in the title match.

Anthony Tissandier was second at 170 pounds. He had four pins then lost to Braden Neuberger of Norwalk 9-2 in the championship match.

Sam Brothers had a runnerup finish at 195 pounds. With four pins under his belt, Brothers lost to Robert Marquez of Hamilton Township by pin (3:32) in the finals match.

Jackson Grigsby was fourth at 220 pounds, dropping his consolation match by pin to Chase Ferguson of Hamilton Township in 1:32.

Nathan Allgyer was fifth at 106 pounds, winning his final match 15-5 over Trevor Landon of Fairborn.

Ross Lennon was fifth at 160 pounds, pinning Raymond Patton of Hamilton Township in the fifth-place match.

Zack Dillow finished sixth at 138 pounds, losing by pin to Jon Osborne of Lexington in 59 seconds.

Nathan Gibbs at 126 advanced out of the pool to the bracket but did not place.
