WHS girls 1st, boys 3rd in SCOL quad

GREENFIELD – The Wilmington girls and Chillicothe boys won a South Central Ohio League quad meet at Greenfield McClain High School Monday.

The Chillicothe girls finished runner-up, followed by McClain and Hillsboro.

McClain’s boys placed second, followed by Wilmington and Hillsboro.

Wilmington swimmers won eight of the 11 girls events and took second in the other three. McClain swimmers won two girls events while Chillicothe’s Heidi Arth won the other. Hillsboro’s best finishes on the girls side were Izzy Bourne’s thirds in the 50-yard freestyle and 100 back, and Brittany Rhoads’ third in the 100 fly.

The Hurricane boys won five events and placed second in six others. McClain had a top-three finisher in all but one event. The Tigers won the 400 free relay. Chillicothe, which won four events, had a top-three finisher in all but two events. Hillsboro’s top male finisher was Braden Wldey who won the 50-free.

TEAM RESULTS

GIRLS: Wilmington 183, Chillicothe 136, McClain 123, Hillsboro 47.

BOYS: Chillicothe 154, McClain 141, Wilmington 137, Hillsboro 63.
