EC boys top Springfield at Victory Lanes

The East Clinton bowling teams faced Fairfield Monday at Royal Z Lanes and Springfield Tuesday at Victory Lanes.

The East Clinton girls lost matches to a pair of veteran teams, coach Joe Davis said.

Against Fairfield, August Morgan led the way with games of 180 and 151.

Against Springfield, Jestiny Hughes and Mersadees Gulley had personal best scores. Tessa Bosier had a 145 game and Morgan was again the pacesetter with games of 176 and 153. The team’s 673 first game was a season-best effort. East Clinton also had a season-high baker game of 156 and a season-high team total of 1,676. Springfield had 2,237.

The boys split matches with Fairfield and Springfield, losing to the Lions and defeating the Wildcats, according to coach Dale Wallace.

Against Fairfield, Andy Gilliland bowled a 184 game while Patrick Dotson had games of 170 and 191. Freddy Morgan bowled games of 189 and 164.

Against Springfield, Dotson posted a 402 series with games of 203 and 199. Freddy Morgan filled all his frames in a 216 game and had a 379 series.

The final team numbers had the Astros with 2,134 and the Wildcats with 2,061.
