Wildcats run streak to 7 with 4-pin win

BATAVIA — In a tight match that went down to the wire, the Blanchester High School boys bowling team defeated Clermont Northeastern 2,261 to 2,257 Friday night in SBAAC National Division competition.

The Blanchester girls were defeated by CNE 1,779 to 1,249. Coach Brad Ballinger said his girls team continues to improve.

Bri Haun led Blanchester with a 241 two-game set. Aleah Wells had a 202 and Jill Hudson bowled a 172. Leeann Stannus had a 145. Madison Pembleton bowled a single game of 113 while Kylie Campbell also bowled for BHS.

The Blanchester boys were led by Josh Allen who had a 448 two-game series as the Wildcats improved to 7-0 in the National Division.

Bryan Brewer had 379 for the Wildcats while Orin Potts finished with 345. Brian Miller bowled a 301 and Dakota Abney rounded out the scoring with a 283.

Blanchester trailed by a pin going to the final game, Ballinger said, but outlasted the Rockets in the finale to secure the win and extend the unbeaten streak to seven games.
