The Blanchester High School boys soccer team couldn’t hold a 2-0 lead and lost to Deer Park 5-3 Thursday in a non-league match.

BHS coach Benny Spirk said his team “had plenty of chances to extend the score line first half but we did not capitalize.”

Spirk said it was a back and forth match and when “you let a team stick around and you don’t put them away early, then these types of results can happen.”

Reagan Burch had a pair of goals for Blanchester while Carter Stevens added one. Assists went to Colton Wilson, Shane Akers and Josh Helton.

Zach West had 10 saves in goal for Blanchester.

Blanchester is 2-8 on the year while Deer Park moves to 4-7.
