McNicholas ends EC volleyball season 3-0

MILFORD — Despite having a losing record at the draw. McNicholas was the No. 5 seed right behind N0. 4 East Clinton, who was 13-3.

The Rockets proved that seeding was no fluke Saturday with a 25-21, 25-19, 25-11 win over the Astros in a Division III Withrow 2 sectional match at Milford High School.

East Clinton’s season ends with a 16-4 record.

“McNick is a very good team,” EC head coach Sarah Sodini said. “We could not defend their middle attack. We also did not play our best. It was not the finish we wanted, but I’m really proud of the awesome season the girls had.”

Katrina Bowman had an ace, a kill, 21 assists and six digs. Gracie Evanshine finished with seven kills and 14 digs. Alex Rolfe had six digs while Lanie Clark came up with seven digs. Kami Whiteaker had three kills, three blocks and a dig.

Libby Evanshine had 12 kills, an assist and 13 digs. Jericka Boggs totaled two digs and an assist. Lydia Kessler had a dig and Kelsi Lilly had a dig and a kill. Gracie Boggs had a kill, four blocks and four digs.
