South Central Ohio League honors winter teams

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — South Central Ohio League winter sports awards banquet was held recently.

The quick recall teams were honored with Clinton-Massie finishing 13-1 and earning league champion honors. Gil Farr coaches the Falcons.

East Clinton, coached by Jason Basford, was third at 9-5 with Wilmington, coached by Dillon Oney, fourth at 7-7.

In boys bowling, Ryan Hottinger and Sawyer Kratzer of Wilmington were first team with Aric France of Clinton-Massie also on first team.

WHS was coached by Joe Davis and finished fourth. CM was coached by Shonda Marburger and finished fifth.

In girls bowling, Katie Hottinger of WHS was second team. The Lady Hurricane were sixth overall.

Clinton-Massie finished fifth in the league standings.

In wrestling, Clinton-Massie has three league champions — Davey Tunon, Ross Lennon and Anthony Tissandier. Wilmington had one champion, Jacob Boldman.

Second teamers were Nathan Allgyer of Massie and Bryant Bergefurd of WHS.

Final standings had CM coached by Spencer Running third and WHS coached by Kelly Tolliver fourth.

In girls swimming, league champion Wilmington, coached by Mitch Hopf, had Alyssa Lewis, Alison Dooley, Morgan Bahr, Brianna Gilbert and Olivia Lewis as first teamers. Second teamers were Gilbert, Maddy Adkins, Rachael Billups, Bahr, Olivia Lewis and Dooley.

Clinton-Massie, sixth and coached by Kacie Jenkins, had Gracie Storm as a first teamer.

In boys swimming, SCOL runnerup Wilmington had Austin Carey, Ricky Dungan, Harrison Law and Sam Osborn as first-teamers. Second team honors went to Osborn and Law.

For Clinton-Massie, fifth overall, second team honors went to Drew Puckett.

In boys basketball, Jarron Cumberland, Dylan Beaugard and Cameron Stewart were first team picks for the unbeaten champion Hurricane squad, coached by Michael Noszka. Chris Wolary was a second teamer for WHS.

Trey Uetrecht of CM was a first team pick and Wyatt Floyd of EC was a first team selection. Dustin Eads coached CM while Tony Berlin and Roger Earley coached EC.

In girls basketball, Miquela Santoro and Madison Purkey of league runner Clinton-Massie were first team picks. Savanna Meyers was a second team choice. CM was coached by Carlos Robert.

For Wilmington, Mya Jackson was a first-teamer and Faith Sanderson was a second-teamer. Coached by Mark Short, WHS finished fifth.
