RIGHT NOW I LIKE

Our numbers. Over the past three seasons the team continues to grow. We have more kids each year and that can only be a positive. I also like the additions that we have this year. There are a handful of first time track athletes that are going to bring a high level of competition to our program. Our kids have been working hard thus far. We have a great deal of leadership across the program. I have seen people from all four grade levels step up and lead the team. I am very excited to see how these guys compete when we get out there for the first time.

RIGHT NOW WE NEED TO IMPROVE

We need to maintain our focus. The beginning of track season is difficult because we ask a lot out of the kids for almost a month. The kids have been coming in and working their hardest for a long time and they are ready for some competition. I want the kids to maintain focus on that first meet so that they are prepared to compete when March 30 arrives.

TEAM TO BEAT IN SCOL

Every team in this league is great competition in track. We compete against very large schools who not only have more students in the building, but have also put a lot of time and effort into improving their track programs. There is not a school in the SCOL that doesn’t have a strong emphasis on track when the spring rolls around.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SAY …

This year our guys will be competing in the Div. III district meet in May. Last year we were in the Div II competition. This is a great opportunity for some of our guys to get some recognition at a higher level than just our league. I am pushing all of my athletes this year to strive for regional. We have the athletes to get there. We simply need to maintain our focus throughout the season. We are only a few weeks into this season and I am already proud of the work that these guys have put in.
