The Rodger O. Borror eighth grade boys basketball team was defeated by Batavia 39-34 Wednesday.

Coach Eric Conley said the team played well defensively, especially the intensity on that side of the ball. However, the offense missed too many easy shots to come out on top.

Logan Phillips, Luke Achtermann and Malachi Cumberland had six points each for Wilmington.

Michael Streety and Zane Smith tossed in five each. Aven Patel and Bryson Schutte had three points each.
