Key hit tough to come by for Ladycats

BLANCHESTER — Unable to get a timely hit, the Blanchester High School softball team was defeated by Felicity 1-0 in a Southern Buckeye Athletic and Academic Conference National Division game on the BHS diamond.

“This game just came down to timely hitting,” BHS coach Jamey Grogg said. “Both pitchers threw well and both teams played solid defense. They just came up with a hit in the first inning to drive in a run. We threatened a few times, but just couldn’t come up with the timely hit at the right moment.”

Savana Greene had two of Blanchester’s six hits. In all, the top four hitters in the lineup were hitless while the bottom five were a combined 6-for-15.

Madison Curless pitched seven strong innings (6 hits, 2 strikeouts, 2 walks) for the Ladycats (0-3 overall, 0-1 in the league).
