Lady Hurricane rally comes up one run short

For the second straight day, the Wilmington High School softball team’s rally fell just short.

A day of losing to Beavercreek by two, Wilmington scored four runs in the fifth inning but lost to McClain 9-8 in South Central Ohio League play on the WHS diamond.

Lyla Self, Hannah Chase, Madi Flint and Meghan Fisher all with two hits. Courtney Smart drove in two runs. Self had two stolen bases.

Flint took the pitching loss. Smart pitched well in relief with three strikeouts.
