CINCINNATI — With its best effort here over the last two years, the East Clinton track and field team had more places than in 2015 Friday at the Southern Ohio Coaches Classic track and field meet at Archbishop McNicholas High School.

“This is by far one of the most competitive meets on our schedule,” the EC coaches said. “There are 15 teams there that all have solid track programs, including SBAAC schools New Richmond and Williamsburg.”

The girls 4×800-meter relay team of Shelby Williams, Emilee Cross, Alex Hughes and Hannah Pickering grabbed the top finish by placing sixth overall.

On the boys side, Wes Kidder led the effort by finishing third in the 300-meter hurdles and fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles.

The boys 4×200-meter relay team of Kidder, Joey Gray, Erik Moore and Brian Barnes finished sixth.

Barnes also was sixth in the 110 hurdles. Thomas Wright was fourth in the discus.

Gray, Moore, Barnes and Anthony Osburn finished seventh in the 4×100-meter relay.
