EBER — The Wilmington High School softball team lost to Miami Trace 9-8 in eight innings Monday in a South Central Ohio League game on the MT diamond.
The Lady Hurricane led 6-1 and 7-4 but was unable those leads.
Wilmington trailed 8-7 but scored a run in the sixth which forced extra innings on a bitterly cold and windy day.
The Lady Panthers scored a run in the bottom of the eight inning to win it.
WHS left 10 runners on base. “That was basically the difference,” WHS coach Glen Blessing said. “The girls battled in tough conditions. We are seeing improvement. A tough loss but many positives to build on.”
