MONROE — Monroe scored eight runs after two were out in the first inning Tuesday and defeated Wilmington 10-0 in a non-league game at MHS.
“Hard to win a game when you give up 8 runs with two outs in the first inning,” WHS coach Glen Blessing said.
In all, the Lady Hornets scored 10 runs in the first inning.
Wilmington had just three hits, with Hunter Toller picking up a double.
