Blanchester softball rallies for 7-4 win

BLANCHESTER — Rallying from a 4-1 deficit. the Blanchester softball team defeated Batavia 7-4 Thursday in a non-league game against Batavia on the Clinton County diamond.

“What I liked most about tonight’s game was the way we battled back after giving up four runs in the third inning,” Blan coach Jamey Grogg said. “We came right in and immediately scored three runs to tie the game, which never gave them a chance to gain any momentum.”

Hannah Mann drove in three runs for Blanchester. Maddie Curless, Savana Greene and Kassidy Abney had two hits each.

After that four-run third, Curless blanked the Lady Bulldogs the rest of the way to pick up the pitching victory.

Grogg said Shayla Sicurella had a “solid game” defensively at second base.

Blanchester is 4-5 on the year.
