MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota Class B boys and girls basketball games will have a 35-second shot clock starting with the 2017-18 season.
The Daily Republic reports (http://bit.ly/1rcjzHn ) that the state High School Activities Association board of directors recently approved the move.
The proposal passed the Basketball Advisory Committee with a 7-0 vote and was approved by Class B athletic directors on a 41-28 vote earlier this month.
With the rule change, all three high school basketball classes in South Dakota will be playing under the same rules. The 35-second shot clock went into effect in Class AA for the 2008-09 season and in Class A for the 2014-15 season.
