WILLIAMSBURG — The Blanchester baseball team split a doubleheader Saturday, losing to Williamsburg in a Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference, 3-0.

In the other game, Blanchester defeated East Clinton 8-4.

The Wildcats are 9-4 overall and 5-2 in the SBCN.

In the win over EC, Dustin Howard had two hits and drove in two runs for the Wildcats. Travis Nelson had two hits and scored twice.

Gavin Creighton was the winning pitcher in relief. DJ Luttrell of East Clinton gave up two earned runs but was tagged with the loss.

Luttrell had three walks as a hitter for EC. Justin Inwood had two hits for the Astros and drove in a run.
