Blanchester tennis earns share of SBCN crown

BLANCHESTER – With a 4-1 win Monday over Bethel-Tate, the Blanchester tennis team clinched at least a share of the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division championship.

The Wildcats are 10-4 overall and 5-1 in league play. Felicity is 4-1 in the league, with its only loss to Blanchester. The Cardinals still have a match with Bethel-Tate, BHS coach Scott Shepard said.

A couple of matches Monday went to a super tiebreaker in lieu of a third set.

Jacob Miller of BHS won at second singles over Mitchell McElfresh 6-0, 3-6, (10-4) while Matt Burden at first singles was defeated by Josh Royer 6-4, 2-6, (4-10)
