EBER – The South Central Ohio League showdown Sunday between Wilmington and Clinton-Massie took on added meaning Friday night.
The Falcons fell a game back of the Hurricane as a result of a 7-1 loss to Miami Trace in league play.
Clinton-Massie is now 19-2 overall and 11-2 in the SCOL. Wilmington is 12-1 in the league.
WHS and CM will meet 4 p.m. Sunday at Paul Schwamberger Field. With a Clinton-Massie win, the two Clinton County teams will share the league crown. With a Hurricane win, WHS wins the title outright.
Against Trace Friday, the Falcons collected just two hits.
Miami Trace led 1-0 then scored six runs in the fourth to seal the win.
