Spring sports athletes honored by SCOL

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — Clinton County athletes were honored Monday at the annual South Central Ohio League spring sports banquet.

In baseball, first team All-SCOL players were Chris Wolary, Brady McCune, Stephen Krause and Jordan Ianson from Wilmington; and JP Cantrell, Noah Greathouse and Max Murray from Clinton-Massie.

The rest of the first-team baseball squad was made up of Jack Busch of Chillicothe; Jake Helterbrand, Cayse Cameron of Hillsboro; Trenton Harris, Brady Wallace of Miami Trace; and Caden Cluxton, Jarett Patton from Washington.

Second-teamers were Aric France, Wyatt Jefferson and Luke Richardson from Clinton-Massie, Cameron Conner and Brandon Norris from East Clinton; and Brad Keller from Wilmington.

Wilmington and Clinton-Massie shared the SCOL title in baseball.

In softball, Hunter Toller of Wilmington; Victoria Bailey of East Clinton; and Emilie Fisher, Taylor Florea, Madilyn Newton and Caitlyn Robinson of Clinton-Massie.

The rest of the first team squad consisted of Haylee Jo Large and Olivia Ray from Chillicothe; Maddie Schumacher from McClain; Hanna Breeden and Madison Snyder from Hillsboro; Jessica Camp and Ashley Campbell from Miami Trace; and Wendy Hawk from Washington.

Second team players were Hailey Clayborn of Clinton-Massie; Courtney Smart of Wilmington; and Madisyn Cox of East Clinton.

Clinton-Massie won the softball title with an unbeaten 14-0 record.

First team All-SCOL in boys tennis Matt Keiter of Wilmington and Paul Luttrell of East Clinton, along with Joseph Herlihy, Will Krieter, Gabby Lapurga, Ryan Little and Sean McCorkle of Chillicothe; Seth Leach of Miami Trace; and Kenny Upthegrove of Washington.

Second teamers were Luke Meares of East Clinton; and Jonathan Fender, Drew Moyer and Brady Henry of Wilmington.

SCOL first-team athletes in girls track and field were Preslee Rolf, Rachel Avery, Courtney Gibson, Mallory Homan and Jocelyn Burton from Clinton-Massie.

Rounding out the first team was Tanea Cousins, Riley Wrightsel, Jasmine Roper, Jade Barnes, Abby Sullivan from Chillicothe; Alexis Gray, Maddy Garrison, Megan Mullins, Haley Petitt, Holly Inskeep, Jaelyn Mson from Washington; and Katie Seyfang, Tori Morrison from Miami Trace.

Second team in girls track was Rolf of Clinton-Massie.

In boys track and field, first teamers were Jacob Whitaker, Tanner Olberding, Alex Hudson and Nick Chowning from Clinton-Massie. Others on the first team were Alex Hollar, Cody Hardesty, Tommy Henry, Tristan Pitzer, Jensen Knaff, Tyler Jackson from McClain; Braden Wildey, Mackenzie Conlon, Luke Gallimore, Anthony Anderson, Ty Alexander, Austin Goolsby from Hillsboro; Tyrae Pettiford from Miami Trace; Donavan Lowe, Kristen Boltenhouse, Jakob Staggs from Chillicothe.

Second teamers were Nic Hayward of Wilmington; Scott Goings, Cole O’Bryon, Devon O’Bryon, Bailey Leforge, Scott Goings, Chris Demler and Bryson Mills from Clinton-Massie.
