CM golfers 2-0 after win over WHS

ADAMS TOWNSHIP – The Clinton-Massie boys golf team improved to 2-0 with a 159 to 188 win over Wilmington in South Central Ohio League golf action at Majestic Springs Golf Course.

The Falcons were led by Keith Mineer, who had a 38 on the back nine at Majestic.

Drew Kienle and Max Carnavalie both had 40s. Thomas Carter carded a 42 and Cam Collett had a 43. Caleb Enright rounded out the Falcons scores with a 49.

For Wilmington, Hunter DeWeese led the way with a 40 and Dylan Combs followed with a 47.

“We were unfamiliar with the layout of the course today and our starting holes really got us into trouble today,” WHS coach Phil Gilmore saaid. “There is still a lot of learning we need to do on the course, but I am encouraged by our scoring thus far. We are much better than we were at this time a year ago, but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done in order for us to reach our expectations as a team.”

Tristan Reiley came in with 50 for the Huricane and Derrick Cope shot a 51. Playing but not scoring were Drew Carey and Cameron Smart.

The Falcons also were victorious in the reserve match, 203 to 205.

Nick Young and A.J. Perkins had 50s for Clinton-Massie.

Joey Marburger shot a 51 and Ryan Riggers came in with a 52. Chase Scott finished with 57 and Sam Hansen had a 63.
