OWENSVILLE — After a slow start, Blanchester came on strong and defeated Clermont Northeastern 4-1 Thursday in a Southern Buckeye Conference tennis match on the CNE courts.

The Ladycats are 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the league. Clermont NE drops to 0-2, 0-1.

Third singles (Heather O’Neill) and first doubles (Erin Wilson, Lilly Tedrick) both dropped the first set then rallied to post wins for Blanchester.

Coach Matt Sexton said he was “proud of the fight of second doubles. They played a match with two tiebreaks and a match tiebreak.”
