BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester girls tennis team had a rough day at the Southern Buckeye Conference tennis tournament Saturday on the BHS courts.

Blanchester had a record of 2-5 on the day. Brooke Honaker posted a win in the singles bracket while the doubles team of Erin Wilson and Lilly Tedrick had a doubles victory.

The tournament continued Monday at BHS but a weather-related stoppage forced the event to be postponed.

The doubles championship was decided with Painter and Cahall of New Richmond defeated Stienmetz and Loving of New Richmond 6-1, 1-6, (10-5).

The singles title match between KK Massey of Western Brown and Rachel Dapper of Amelia was postponed by lightning. A makeup date has not been set, according to BHS coach and tournament director Matt Sexton.
