GREENFIELD — The Clinton-Massie girls golf team finished as the runnersup in the South Central Ohio League, falling short of Hillsboro in Saturday’s league tournament at Buckeye Hills Country Club.

“We picked the wrong day to have a bad day,” CM coach Tim McGraw said.

Hillsboro won the tournament with a 181 and Clinton-Massie was runnersup at 196. McClain was third, Miami Trace fourth, Wilmington fifth and East Clinton sixth.

In the final overall standings, Hillsboro was 14-1, Massie 13-2 McClain 9-6 Miami Trace 5-10, Wilmington 4-11 and East Clinton 0-15.

The Lady Falcons and Lady Indians were tied going into the tournament.

“We knew it would be tough,” said McGraw. “They play here (Buckeye Hills) a lot and we don’t. This is (Kristin) Jamieson’s home course.”

Jamieson finished as the tournament medalist with a 36. The next closest score was a 45.

For Clinton-Massie, Angela Miller and Gabby Woods both had 45s.

Wilmington’s top player was Heather Fryman with a 51.
