OWENSVILLE — Sam Schafer had a hat trick and goalkeeper Dakota Penquite posted a shutout as Blanchester defeated Clermont Northeastern Tuesday in a Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division match at the CNHS field.

Blanchester is now 5-4-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the SBCN. Clermont Northeastern is 0-9-2 overall and 0-5-2.

Blanchester had 31 shots on goal while allowing just six, all of which Penquite kept out of the back of the net.

Schafer had three goals while Topher Farrow added two as the BHS offense was hitting on all cylinders.

Assists went to Nevan Coyle, Cameron Skidmore, Noah Armocida and Farrow. Coach Troy Ballinger said Farrow’s assist on Schafer’s final goal was a “scorpion style back heel pass.”
