Short-handed Lady Hurricane 13th at Buck Creek Invitational

SPRINGFIELD — The short-handed Wilmington High School girls cross country team finished 13th Saturday at the Buck Creek Invitational.

Wilmington ran without two of its top runners, Tristin Vail and Ali Dooley, coach Eileen Grosse said.

Hailey Fugate was the first Lady Hurricane runner to hit the line, finishing 52nd in a personal best 23:00.

In the girls 3k junior high race, Mackenzie Voges-Pertuset was 41st in 16:12. The Rodger O. Borror girls were eighth overall.
