Wilmington College junior Ana Hosler has been named co-Ohio Athletic Conference women’s soccer Player of the Week.

“Ana had a tremendous match Saturday on the road against a tough John Carroll team,” said Wilmington head coach Steve Spirk. “She has been playing well all season and is very deserving of this award.”

Hosler, a Blanchester High School graduate, stopped all 10 shots faced in Wilmington’s scoreless road draw against the Blue Streaks. It was the sixth straight shutout for WC and seventh in the last eight games.

The junior goalkeeper currently leads the Ohio Athletic Conference and is 72nd nationally in goals against average. As a team, Wilmington is 28th nationally in shutout percentage.

She is the second Wilmington women’s soccer player to earn the league’s weekly honor this season. Junior Ashley Lovett, a Washington Senior High School product, picked up the honor for the week ending September 11.

Wilmington (5-1-3 overall, 0-0-1) will host Capital 7 p.m. Tuesday in OAC action.
