The Wilmington High School girls soccer team was defeated by Landmark Christian 2-1 Wednesday in a non-league match at Alumni Field.

Savannah Morgan scored the only WHS goal, following a Landmark Christian foul.

“We struggled in the first half to possess the ball and dictate tempo,” WHS head coach Kerry Lewis said. “We adjusted at halftime and really found our rhythm in the second half. Our attack was outstanding. We just couldn’t knock one in.

“The girls played great. We played winning soccer in the second half versus a very good team but came up a little short.”
